In brief
Members of Congress and officials disclosed $993,000 of net selling, against $123,000 the fortnight before, with energy, industrials and financials sold hardest.
A single $375,000 Senate sale of Williams Companies, traded on 8 September, led the selling; one filer is not a trend.
Company insiders sold $1.3bn against $41.2mn of purchases, with technology hit hardest, though most sales ran under preset Rule 10b5-1 plans.
PepsiCo drew the largest insider purchase, $23.7mn, while the Nasdaq 100 was down 6.2 per cent and the S&P 500 down 1.9 per cent.
Vikramjeet Singh Sodhi's 49.8 per cent of Canagold Resources led the 13D filings; members' trades showed no consistent edge.
